And that nicely brings us to Book # 24, Sputnik Sweetheart. Review: Sputnik Sweetheart by Haruki Murakami. From Murakami's Sputnik Sweetheart. I recently read Sputnik Sweetheart and I am in love with Haruki Murakami. I've decided to celebrate it with a review of a short novel by one of my favourite contemporary writers. I chose Sputnik Sweetheart to read because it looked somewhat linear, more in the vein of Norwegian Wood. Sputnik-Sweetheart World of Books has reached the landmark of 100 posts. It's a sweet, short book – even a slow reader can finish it in about a couple of days, and it's gripping from start to finish. There are many things that have been lost from the world. Would you photograph the emptiness? Firstly, Sputnik Sweetheart was translated by a different dude than the guy who translated the other two Murakami books I've read, which isn't something that I'd normally mention except that, well, I could kind of tell! Sputnik Sweetheart is another novel that has Haruki Murakami's signature of questioning dreams and reality in the real world. The young and naive Sumire is in love for the first time in her life, so it did not matter if the object of her affection is Miu, an older married woman. Sputnik Sweetheart I love Murakami and one of my goals is to read everything he's written. He has superpowers when it comes to story telling. Well, I was right and I was wrong. Now that I passed my essay and presented my "reaction" to my first Murakami book, I could finally post my review/reaction of Sputnik Sweetheart.
